The HP 2133 Mini-Note PC is a full-functioned mini-notebook PC with pricing that starts at less than $500. Designed for the education market, the HP 2133 weighs slightly more than 2.5 pounds and includes a suite of multimedia, security, and wireless capabilities.

The Mini-Note measures 1.05" (front)/1.30" (rear) x 10.04" x 6.50". The unit’s features include a lightweight and sturdy anodized aluminum shell, an 8.9" diagonal WXGA display, full QWERTY keyboard and touchpad (92% the size of a full-sized keyboard), and two battery solutions (three-cell for lightest weight configurations or optional six-cell for longer battery life). Also provided are UMA graphics, expansion slots, two USB 2.0 ports, and connectors.

The HP 2133 provides the ability to work with video, still images, web conferencing, or video-enhanced instant messages with no additional hardware. An optional integrated 2.1 megapixel Webcam enables video and still image capture to allow the addition of photos and video clips to presentations, documents, and email messages.

Enhanced security protection is offered through a broad range of multilayered customizable offerings such as HP ProtectTools to help defend data, applications, and the network. Optional Absolute Software allows IT professionals to work with law enforcement officials to track and help recover stolen or missing computers, to inventory computers across a district, and to detect changes in hardware and software.

Additional features include HP DuraKeys with a clear coating over the keyboard that protects the finish and printed letters and characters, an HP 3D DriveGuard that sends a signal to shut down the hard drive upon sudden movement or shock, and a scratch-resistant display and magnesium hinge bracket.

Pricing for the HP 2133 Mini-Note PC begins at $499 for VIA 1.0GHz, 512MB, 4GB SSD, a three-cell battery, and a Novell SuSE Linux operating system. For $549, the unit includes VIA 1.2GHz, 1GB, 120GB/5400 RPM, a three-cell battery, and a Novell SuSE Linux operating system. At $599, the system includes the features found in the $549 setup, with the addition of Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic (recommended by HP).

For $749, the HP 2133 comes with VIA 1.6GHz, 2GB, 120GB/5400RPM, Bluetooth, a six-cell battery, and Microsoft Windows Vista Business.

All of the systems include limited 1-year and 90-day warranty options and a 1-year limited warranty on the primary battery.
