Posted Sep 14, 2005 Print Version     Page 1

In order to serve educators complying with a new Federal law that reads, "Each educational institution that receives Federal funds for a fiscal year shall hold an educational program on the United States Constitution on September 17 of each year for the students served by the educational institution,"  CNN Student News will develop a special Constitution report paired with appropriate classroom content to assist educators nationwide as they comply with the federal mandate. On Friday, September 16th, both on-air at 3:12 am (ET) on CNN Headline News and online at http://www.cnn.com/education, CNN Student News will offer the report—which will highlight how the Constitution is living and breathing through recent events in the nation's capital—as well as a learning activity and a news quiz for educators who plan to teach the Constitution.

Donna Krache, CNN Student News' director of curriculum, will post an article about the federal mandate for CNN.com. Look for the article at http://www.cnn.com/education.
