Thomson Gale has announced the launch of its redesigned Web site <http://www.gale.com> with a new look and many new features. Based on usability tests and suggestions from librarians, the site has been enhanced to make it easier to use and loaded with more useful information, according to the announcement.
The new home page has been designed to help visitors find more targeted information by allowing them to select the part of the Web site they'd like to visit— K-12 libraries, public libraries, academic libraries, or government and special libraries. Pages contain news, special offers, and product information tailored to these specific visitors. Free trials of online products, MARC records, and product reviews are now accessible from the home page, rather than buried deeper in the site.
A new section on the site, the Customer Resource Center, provides librarians with a single stop for training and online product support needs.
Thomson Gale is encouraging visitors to fill out a survey about the new site. Librarians who do so are entered into a drawing to win $500.
