Kurzweil Educational Systems released Kurwzeil 3000 Version 11 USB, a new edition designed to provide portable access to Kurzweil 3000, a scaffolded reading, writing, and study skills program.
The new release includes the program’s Virtual Printing function for accessing electronic files, as well as an increased 4 GB capacity. With Kurzweil 3000 Version 11 USB, students can save files and user settings directly to a USB device, enabling them to work on a variety of computers.
Kurzweil 3000 Version 11 provides a complete set of writing tools based on research and alignment with generally accepted writing processes (writing, drafting, revising and proofreading) in a single program, eliminating the need for students to learn to use multiple software programs.
Improvements to Kurzweil 3000 for Windows Version 11 include new RealSpeak Solo Spanish voices (useful for English or Spanish language learners) and enhanced FineReader and ScanSoft optical character recognition (for highly accurate scanning).
Kurzweil 3000, built on the principles of Universal Design for Learning, is a learning tool for students in general education programs, as well as those on IEPs (Individualized Education Plans), and students who benefit from additional sensory experiences to reinforce and give focus to learning. The program assists English language learners (ELLs) with access to a fluent audio model, as well as English vocabulary, reading comprehension, study skill support, and embedded coaching tips.
