Professional development content from Just ASK Publications & Professional Development will be incorporated into PBS TeacherLine Peer Connection, an online suite of multimedia resources, instructional strategies, and tools that support educators with coaching and mentoring responsibilities. The new content will be available in early 2009.
The Just ASK resources include teaching strategies that teacher leaders and mentors can use immediately with their peers in any subject area. The topics cover a wide range of instructional practices, from lesson planning and classroom management to assessment and data analysis.
Just ASK was established in 1989 by Paula Rutherford, author of "Why Didn’t I Learn This in College?" and "The 21st Century Mentor’s Handbook." The company provides educator products and services that support face-to-face and blended professional development programs in schools and districts. The comprehensive resources are designed to meet the needs of new teachers, mentors, experienced teachers, and administrators.
Current areas of emphasis include teaching, learning and leading in a standards-based environment, meeting the needs of diverse learners, revision of supervision and evaluation systems, data-driven decisions, smaller learning communities, job-embedded learning, and induction.
