Capstone Digital has announced the launch of its myON iPad app, giving the more than 1.2 million students who are currently using the myON platform unlimited anytime, anywhere access to the personalized literacy environment through the new myON iPad app.

While myON was already optimized for all mainstream mobile platforms, the iPad app now offers the ability to download digital books for offline reading. Through the myON app, students, parents and educators have access to an ever-expanding collection of more than 3,000 enhanced digital books with multimedia supports such as highlighting, audio and embedded dictionary. The titles originate from Capstone and 21 additional publishers that have joined myON's publishers program. The myON app also incorporates iPad's intuitive multi-touch gestures such as swiping and zooming, providing a reading experience that is accessible and appropriate for students of all ages.

In addition to an expansive collection of digital books, the myON iPad app offers educators a breakthrough classroom management solution. The app retains all of myON's tracking and measurement tools - even when students download and read books offline. The app records activity during offline reading sessions and automatically updates students' profiles when they sync their iPads. This way, educators can monitor, track and measure students' reading growth based on the Lexile Framework. The app also tracks the number of books read and time spent reading, giving students, parents and teachers access to personalized trajectory reports that forecast expected reading levels.
