Content/Features: SAT Method Test Prep is a tutorial program designed to strengthen the testing skills of students preparing for the SAT. The Method Test Prep company also offers ACT and SAT Deluxe Test Prep versions. The SAT Deluxe Test Prep includes audio explanations of more than 1,400 SAT questions from The Official SAT Study Guide test-prep book.
The SAT Method Test Prep homepage includes links to evaluation tests, lessons, practice questions, and practice tests. Evaluation tests are provided for math, critical reading, and writing. The lessons cover math, critical reading, writing, and vocabulary building.
The practice questions focus on math (multiple choice, grid-ins), critical reading (sentence completion, reading passages), and writing (identifying errors, improving sentences and paragraphs). The practice tests include two full-length SAT tests. The practice questions and practice tests are timed. Hundreds of SAT questions are available.
A new section provides a PDF that users can open to see samples of student essays, showing how they were written and scored. Grammar rules and a math packet can be printed out to enhance learning opportunities.
Guidelines are provided to keep student practice on schedule for a 6-week course of study. Students can be signed up at school and can access the program on their own time at home; they can also sign up at home and use the program independently.
Student progress is tracked; areas of strength and weakness are noted. Immediate feedback is provided with specific practice questions. As questions are scored, students can ask for an explanation. The explanation, designed to provide strategies for answering future questions, is provided in a detailed teaching format and clear speaking voice.
