Content/Features: BloomBoard -Marketplace has built tools and services for professional development that can be personalized for individuals and districts. These resources are both free and paid and come from highly respected third-party providers in the forms of books, articles, videos, live events, lesson plans, etc.
Teachers gain access by logging in to BloomBoard Marketplace then searching for specific resources based on subject, grades, time needed for the resource, source of the resource (from within the teacher’s organization or from third parties), resource type (reading, watching, etc.), or search by tags such as Common Core.
Users can also browse the long list of resources and choose one to see a detailed description as well as reviews and ratings based on feedback from other teachers. Teachers and administrators can see a list of resources that teachers have used and other records, including tracking goals, observation data, and professional learning information.
BloomBoard Marketplace helps teachers set goals and create growth plans for themselves on the platform. Administrators can give feedback on those goals and, through a tagging system, link observation data to those goals so teachers can track their improvement and progress. This is all stored in the teachers’ own “e-portfolio.”
BloomBoard Marketplace users can upload and collect materials associated with observations, such as lesson plans or reflections. The administrator can also upload evidence, including photos and videos tagged to teacher effectiveness. These can then be shared immediately with the teacher once the observation is complete.
Resources can be filtered by grade and subject level, price, keywords, time commitment, location, Common Core, and ELL. Teachers can track, rate, and comment on each resource they use, how it helped them accomplish their goals, and whether they would recommend it to other educators. Teachers can also directly recommend a particular resource to another user within the platform.
Micro-credentials and CEUs are offered as well for competencies mastered. In addition, BloomBoard Marketplace includes a number of other excellent tools not discussed here as well as a huge collection of skill training resources for K–12 students and the tools and reporting and record-keeping functions necessary to use the resources most
effectively. Content/Features Rating: A
