TOOLS FOR LEARNING: Technology-Based Professional Development

Teachers are students too. With online learning growing by a rate of 30% over the past few years, according to the International Association for K–12 Online Learning, once-lonely and isolated education professionals are now taking advantage of tech-based tools and platforms and connecting like never before.

From self-paced courses, product training, instructional seminars, and real-time information resources to video segments and streaming content, educators have plenty of ways to hone up on just about anything.

The following is not a comprehensive list, but it is a first step in having a look at what’s out there when it comes to some excellent, high-quality professional development products and services. Just reading through it should stimulate the mind, provoke the thoughts, and stir up some enthusiasm. Yes, reading this article itself is professional development, and if it’s at all helpful, credit yourself with knowledge won and insights gained.
