For March 15, 2012: "A free world-class education for anyone anywhere." That's the mission of Khan Academy featured on 60 Minutes. It is a place where students can go to view over 3,000 tutorials in many subject areas on many levels. For example the math segments range from elementary math to calculus and trigonometry. Other subjects include art history, astronomy, biology, chemistry, finance, history, and physics. After learning a concept, students can try an exercise such as telling time or solving a math problem. To access the coach area, teachers and students need to login. Here there is a set of tools that allow teachers to track student progress in real time and assist those who need help. Students can learn at their own pace and navigate their knowledge map. Google and Facebook logins work at Khan Academy. You can also get the iPad app at http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/id469863705.

Fly over to CyberBee at www.cyberbee.com for more great websites, lessons, and activities to use with students.
