"We really are going to get this cupboard in better shape—eventually!" How many times have I said that?

Media specialists and technology staff discuss ways to manage networks, set up servers, or configure computers, but we don't take much time to share ideas about how to organize the physical stuff in our cyber environments. Organizing resources—software registration files, installation disks, manuals, etc.—efficiently actually not only saves time, it helps us serve our customers better. Organizing tangible items saves our schools money, helps us stay accountable for what we do, and fits well with our role as program administrators. Since most of us are trained organizers, we can be pretty good at it, and with a few practical ideas, we can improve our overall efficiency.
